Walked by this place a few times and wanted to try it. Had a reservation for their outside table overlooking one of the canals, but unfortunately due to weather they switched us indoors. A little disappointed by that but they more than made up for it with great food and service. Classic tastes of mussels, pasta and fish. The wine recommendation was on point and the tiramisu is great for desert. Nice touch at the end with some limoncello. Next time I will try and get the outdoor tables. There’s only 3 so it is a bit hard to secure the reservation, and it requires credit card that will be charge for no show, only on those 3 tables.

What an amazing place! Had the best carbonara of my life here - the food was incredible! The staff were very lovely and friendly, too, and made us feel very welcome. We were sat on this very cute little balcony outside overlooking the canal. Perfect all round!!

We had a good experience at this restaurant, with tasty food that satisfied our hunger. However, it didn't blow us away - nothing exceptional stood out. The staff were friendly and helpful, which was a definite plus. We were particularly looking forward to the tiramisu, but unfortunately, it didn't quite meet our expectations - it was a bit dry and lacked the creamy texture we were hoping for. Despite that, the location is great and the overall experience was still enjoyable. Maybe just manage your expectations a bit, but still worth a visit!

We arrived without a reservation and the staff welcomed us immediately. They seated us very quickly and the service was friendly, attentive, and fast. We ordered the risotto ai frutti di mare, some bruschette, and a glass of rosé wine, everything was delicious. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. A great place for a nice dinner in Venice. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is great. My friend and I stopped by here to eat. Service was wonderful and food came out pretty quickly. No reservations needed if you're sitting inside, but yes if you're wanting to sit outside. My pasta was delicious. I liked the vibe. Clean restroom is a big plus.

One of the best meals we’ve had in Italy! Delicious food, great service and beautiful ambiance! We had the baked sea bass and the seafood soup - both were so good! Can definitely recommend. Make sure to book ahead as we saw several parties being turned away as they had no reservations. Thank you to our waiter Francesco for being so lovely!

The place looks very nice and cozy, perfect for a romantic date! And the waiters were very nice and the service here is top-tier. We reserved dinner for 9pm but we came a little earlier and since they didn't have an empty table (which is understandable because we came early) they kindly asked us to wait 10 mins and even gave us wine. And they did this to everyone who come early which is very sweet. Then we ordered our food. We got seafood and the dinner was very good. After the meal we got desserts (panna cotta and tiramisu) which were amazing and at the very end they gave us lemonchello on the house! It was a very good experience, I loved it and would recommend it to everyone!

I had a fantastic dining experience in Venice right by the canal with a beautiful view! I ordered the antipasto misto di pesce to start – everything was fresh and full of flavor. The risotto ai frutti di mare was perfectly cooked, rich with seafood and just the right texture. For the main course, I had branzino al forno, which was tender and delicious, with a light seasoning that let the fish shine. I finished with a classic tiramisù, and it was the perfect end to the meal – creamy, balanced, and not too sweet. Everything I had was excellent. Highly recommend if you're looking for quality seafood and a lovely Venetian atmosphere! the stuff is very friendly and welcoming , they have a small balcony on the view and the orders are served through the window which is a very nice experience , if you want to sit in the balcony , reservation is a must !

Nestled in the heart of Venezia’s charming Sestiere Dorsoduro, Trattoria Dona Onesta offers an authentic Italian dining experience that beautifully captures the spirit of Venetian cuisine. This cozy restaurant, with its quaint outdoor tables overlooking the canal, invites guests into a warm, relaxed atmosphere where traditional flavors take center stage.

The menu here is a vibrant celebration of Italy’s culinary treasures. Standout dishes such as Risotto Ai Frutti Di Mare and Fegato Alla Veneziana Con Polenta showcase fresh seafood and regional specialties that highlight the rich bounty of the Adriatic. The Tagliatelle All'astice and Seafood Risotto impress with their delicate balance of textures and flavors, reminding diners why Italian pasta and risottos are renowned worldwide.

For those seeking lighter options, the Insalata Di Polipi and Insalata Caprese Con Mozzarella Di Bufala offer fresh, vibrant tastes that complement the hearty main courses. The traditional Sarde In Saor brings a tangy, sweet-sour note that is a refreshing testament to Venetian culinary roots.

Finishing your meal with the house tiramisu or panna cotta is a must. While opinions on the tiramisu vary slightly—some finding it just right, others wishing for a creamier texture—its authentic Italian sweetness remains a fitting end. The gesture of a lemony limoncello to close the experience adds a charming touch, evoking the convivial spirit of Italy.

Service here is consistently praised for being friendly and attentive. Whether you secure one of the coveted canal-side tables or dine inside the inviting, intimate space, the staff ensures you feel welcomed. The ambiance, paired with carefully recommended wines and classic cocktails like the Aperol Spritz, enhances the enjoyment of each dish.

Trattoria Dona Onesta perfectly marries traditional Venetian flavors with a cozy atmosphere and genuine hospitality. It’s a place to savor seafood risottos, fresh pasta, and regional specialties in a setting that speaks directly to the soul of Venice. Whether you’re a local or traveler, this trattoria promises a genuine taste of Italian cuisine that lingers long after your visit.
